Write Saturdays - 2011 Schedule

Write Saturdays are full-day (6 hour) writing workshops. Write Saturdays are led according to the same guidelines as Wallkill Valley Writers Weekly Workshop series. The full day provides writers extended writing and response time.

Write Saturdays are open to all who write, or have the desire to write stories, real or imagined.  In WVW workshops, we encourage and support writers at all levels to explore memory and imagination, create fresh and surprising material, and appreciate unique and diverse voices.

Extended time allows writers to explore subject matter and content deeply, to move beyond first thoughts. We strive to find within ourselves the dreaming place described by Pat Schneider, Writing Alone and with Others, where the unconsious is engaged and writing is without effort.

Write Saturdays do not include manuscript critiques.

Write Saturdays can be structured to meet the needs of goups of writers who would like to write in response to a specific theme, such as spirituality or healing, or in to write in genre, such as memoir and creative non-fiction, poetry or fiction.  Kate Hymes, workshop leader, will travel to lead workshops outside the immediate New Paltz area.

The schedule are dates on Kate's calendar that are open for Write Saturdays.  You are invited to register for a Write Saturday, or to host one as an individual or a group.  For more information, email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
