You need JavaScript enabled to view it. , a poet and educator, lives in New Paltz, New York.  She has over twenty years teaching experience at local colleges and community colleges, and over ten years leading workshops for people who want to or do make writing their art.

She is a Cave Canem fellow, www.cavecanempoets.org , with a poem published in Gathering Ground: Cave Canem 10 Year Anniversary Anthology, University of Michigan Press, 2006. Cave Canem is the national foundation for the development and support of established and emerging African-American poets. Her most recent publications are two poems in the anthology, Riverine: An Anthology of Hudson Valley Writers, 2007.

Kate has served as a member of the Dutchess County Arts Council and as a panelist for NYS Arts Council.

She is certified to lead workshops using the Amherst Writers and Artists method developed by Pat Schneider, www.patschneider.com.

She has co-led trainings along side Pat and other AWA trainers to instruct others how to lead workshops using the AWA method. The AWA method is described in Pat Schneider’s book, Writing Alone and With Others, or for more information www.amherstwriters.com .

She has a Master of Arts degree in American Literature from SUNY Stony Brook.
